TweepRoll.com to list the most popular “tweeps” on Twitter

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 9, 2009) – Want to know where Lance Armstrong is riding today or what song John Mayer is composing in his head? To help users find the most interesting and influential people using Twitter, a San Francisco, California duo is launching “TweepRoll.com” to simplify the process of finding out who is really tweeting on Twitter.

TweepRoll.com is a directory of “who’s who” on Twitter. TweepRoll organizes “tweeps” by category and number of followers. Popular individuals can be found in a wide range of categories including actors, athletes, authors, comedians, entrepreneurs, musicians, politicians, tech journalists, TV personalities, and web celebrities.

“Our mission is to help Twitter users find people they might be interested in following,” said TweepRoll Co-Founder Roger Wong. “We provide guidance for users so that they do not have to waste their time guessing who is on Twitter.”

While TweepRoll is not a complete list of all Twitter’s micro-bloggers, the list features the most popular “tweeps” in each category. TweepRoll researchers regularly update the list and accept suggestions for new people from TweepRoll users.

Because Twitter does not require identity verification, celebrity impostors have sprung up on the site. TweepRoll does not list any Twitter accounts of impostors. Its directory ensures that users will be following the real celebrity and not reading fake posts.
